How to Find Auctions With Low Bids Using Misspellings

Everyday, savvy online entrepreneurs are saving lots of money by buying products and services at bargain prices. How do they do so? They are many ways to save money when making purchases online. For example, you can try going to a price comparison website to find the best bargains.

One of the most effective method to save money is to bid on an auction. The way an auction works allows you to walk away with your dream item without having to pay full price. But you must know how to use the auction system to your advantage. For instance, it is possible to get into a bidding war with a competitor and end up paying way over the retail price for a particular item. You are there to save money, not to spend more money. So don’t get into bidding wars with others.

What you are looking for are precious items with few competitors. The less competition you face, the more likely you are to win the auction at an incredibly low price. There are many stories about how regular folks manage to save hundreds to even thousands of dollars just by bidding for auctions, and winning! So how do you find auctions with very little or even zero competition?

Regular bidders discovered very quickly that when they make a search for an item, and the search phrase contains a misspelling, they sometimes end up on auctions that very few people know about. That is because the product title, description or keywords may have been misspelled and these auctions fail to emerge in the search results. In other words, because of the misspellings, it’s harder for people to find the items.

That is bad news for the seller, but good news for the buyer. With lesser people bidding for those items, the bid prices will remain low and you are more likely to emerge as the winner and walk away with the item at a low price.

There are literally thousands of items that are for sale on auction sites. Sellers post misspelled items all the time. Commonly misspelled words include names. Think of all the items that you can find online with names on them. Designer clothing, sports products, celebrity items, etc. They all have names in them – sports personalities, foreign celebrities and so on. That is why it is easy to misspell a product name. Some names are foreign and difficult to remember.

You may then use a free misspelling search engine to help you locate these items. A typo search engine will generate misspellings for your search keywords. If you are searching for “laptop”, the search engine will generate keywords such as “aaptop, laaptop” and others. You will then be presented with a list of items on the auction site. Simply browse through the list and pick up the best deals that you see.

The misspelling search engine is simple enough to use. It works like an ordinary search engines, except that it’s sole function is to regurgitate misspellings of the keyword phrase. If you are a savvy net user, you can also use the advanced search feature to streamline your search and make it more effective.

Market Research Tools On Ebay – Gold Dust When Listing On Ebay

Choose Your Words Carefully

We’ve talked about finding keywords or phrases that potential buyers type in to find your product and using them in the title and subheading.

You use them in the title so that your listing shows to more people.

You use them in the subheading so that more of the people who have searched for it, click on it.

This time I will show you what else you can do with these keywords. I am also going to teach you how to use eBay’s market research tool to find these keywords… and some other interesting things you can do with it.

First, let me tell you all about it cos it’s really good…

EBay’s market research tool is mainly for sellers but buyers can also benefit from the information it gives you.

If you’re a buyer (to resell) then you can find out which listings are performing poorly compared to the rest of the listings in that specific category.

This means that you can see if an item can make you a profit if you resell it with an improved listing.

If you find an item that sold for, say, £15 but you also find a very similar item that sold for far more, say, £25 – £30 then you have found something that may sell very easily.

You can now look at each of the two listings to see how each of them did it. What was done right and what was done wrong.

What you do is type your chosen keyword into the market research tool, click ‘Run research’ and (eventually) you’ll be shown a list of keywords that either contain your keyword or are relevant to your keyword. This is highly valuable information as both a buyer and a seller.

When the list of keywords show up, there will be a ‘Unique searches’ number over to the right of the keyword which tells you how many people searched for that particular category.

This shows you how large your market is.

To the right of the unique searches number, there is a column titled ‘Actions’. This column usually contains links to a load of listings that come under that keyword.

This is where you can find poor performing listings to snap up and resell.

That’s why I get a bit excited with this market research tool.

That’s if you’re a buyer. As a seller, it gets even better!

For a start, when you do keyword research with this tool, you are given the exact phrases that people have used in eBay to search for items related to that keyword.

This means you can perfectly match the keywords you use in your title and subheading with the exact keywords used by eBayers.

In other words, it helps increase sales by helping you target your title and subheading to the buyer.

(By the way, only a tiny fraction of sellers on eBay have figured this out. And the ones who have are keeping it VERY close to their chests… this is NEW stuff!)

Another thing you can do with this is to see how many listings a specific keyword has under it, the day most sales where made for that type of product (remember, listings with two full Sunday viewings get the most but not all end on a Sunday). This allows you to instantly spot hot keywords.

You’ll be shown graphs telling you if the prices for items in that keyword are going up or coming down. If they’re going up, hoorah! If they’re going down, the trend may or may not continue but you can safely say that the ‘juice’ is running out.

The trick with using that information is to buy an item that is on its way up and sell when it begins a decent.

A little bit like buying and selling shares.

Don’t buy items to resell if their prices are on the way down. Only buy items to resell if they’re on their way up.

Similarly, if you’re trying to find clients of hot selling products then choose

sellers of items that the prices of which have been steadily going up.

 Make sense?

Now then. At this point I think it would be best if we take a step back. Before I go on and on about what you can do with this, I should let you in on the lingo…

Avoiding Ebay Buying Pitfalls with These Friendly Tips

As with any market, trading on eBay is not without its hassles and snags.

First of all, it should be duly noted that eBay is an online market/transaction facilitator. It merely becomes a means for the buyer and the seller to meet.

Because of its online nature, eBay’s auction listing provides the buyers with a wide selection of goods. The buyers are also enabled to review the seller through the seller’s feedback rating. This helps the buyer decide whether or not to pursue the trade.

The sellers on the other hand, benefit from a wider audience due to the popularity of the Internet and eBay. eBay enables them to post easily, quickly, and extensively.

When eBay connects buyer and seller, the transactions truly begin as well as the headaches.

Even with the automated nature of most of today’s transactions, eBay is still built on the basic foundation of trading: trust.

A good deal of trust is involved in eBay trading. The buyer has to trust that the seller is listing a legitimate item, and that he or she will deliver that item when paid. The seller, on the other hand, has to trust the buyer to pay fully and without any hidden catches.

Here are a few of the problems one may encounter when using eBay.

- Seller does not deliver product

This is a buyer’s biggest fear. However, it is also one of the most common snags buyers encounter. Usually, when closing a deal, the seller will email purchase instructions to the buyer. This will usually include instructions for payment. The seller will then promise to have the item delivered upon receipt of payment.

If the buyer, after fulfilling his or her part, does not receive the item within the agreed upon date, he or she should immediately try contacting the seller. If this proves to be fruitless, he or she should file a complaint with eBay for assistance regarding the transaction.

- Seller delivers a different/defective product

Sometimes the trading is smooth. Everything goes according to schedule. However, upon receipt of the item, the buyer finds out that the item is significantly different from its description on eBay.

What should the buyer do about this?

Good communication between the buyer and seller usually brings about a speedy and satisfying end to any trading dispute. This should always be the first step when handling a dispute.

- Seller cannot be contacted for questions when closing deal

Most disputes come about due to miscommunication between seller and buyer. But if the seller cannot be contacted, that presents a bigger problem for the buyer especially if that person has already fulfilled payment of the item. Contacting eBay may help to resolve this problem and they are sometimes willing to supply further information about the seller.
